Yuma AZ not Kid and Family friendly to Full time RV folks
66Treatment of people relates to unemployment in the area
A recent article about Yuma Arizona being second in the country in unemployment got me to thinking if there was a correlation between their anti family and not being kid friendly to full time rv travelers.
The last numbers I seen were like 27.2 percent , well I can only speak for our family but I know when we stay a month or 2 in a area we add to that economy a few thousand dollars at a minimum, A lot more when were having work done on the RV or upgrading computers.
So we digress back to Yuma AZ, we visited there to find a place to stay the winter, from 4 to 6 months. Every where we went to all the campgrounds in town we were treated like lepers as soon as they seen the Kids, Even to the point of them being downright Rude.
This really got to me, even as a business decision of only wanting people who are ready to die being the only ones that they want. The next generation of the older people they need to continue operating are currently out traveling as a family now till the kids go off to college, but why would any one in there right mind want to go back to a place that was not friendly when you traveled with kids?
This really got me going and now when we hit a town to look for a new campground to stay in I visit all the campgrounds and see if they are actually Family friendly or not. It has even got me to add a new category on my blog and as soon as I write up all the bad places I will add them, for now I'm writing about the good ones first.
To see the posts as I write them please visit me at RV Camping Tips and I will be adding them as fast as I can.
So in conclusion can there be a point drawn to say Yuma is Second in the country in unemployment due to their being openly mean to families that want to spend time there and spend thousands of dollars a month on food and services, I believe it does, we can not be the only family in the country that travels in a Motor Home.
So in a open letter to the people of Yuma try being nice to people and you will have jobs in your area, yes it is that simple. We ended up buying a yearly spot in Quartzsite AZ and plan to use it through the winter, im sure their economy will be glad to have us.
